Jesus Christ Quotes
By BRENNE MEIROWITZ
Jesus Christ Quotes was conceived after years of uncertainly as to my own Jewish identity. From about my mid-teens until my mid-twenties, I identified as a Christian. However, not just any Christian, but a member of the Greek Orthodox Church into which I was baptized prior to my first marriage. It wasn’t until my late twenties that I began to openly acknowledge that I was born to Jewish parents. Prior to this, I was so ashamed of my Jewishness, that I usually said that I was from Italian or Arab descent. To my recollection, most people didn’t believe me, and usually pegged me as a Jew – despite my protests. In all honesty, I had no clue as to what a Jew really was. I only knew that my parents never went to synagogue, and my grandparents went once a year on Yom Kippur. I was told a lot of lies about Judaism from both ignorant Jews and gentiles, and took it at face value.
Since discovering Judaism, I have studied various versions of the Tanach (Hebew Bible) in English, comparing them with the Hebrew text. In addition, I have compared various translations of the New Testament with the original Hebrew text, and found numerous misquotes, omissions, and inaccuracies in mainstream and messianic Christian texts, as well as some Jewish bibles. Yet, until I first listened to Rabbi Tovia Singer’s lectures, it never occurred to me how Christianity distorted the Jewish holy scrolls.
Through the grace of God, I was bestowed the honor of editing Rabbi Singer’s latest book and in-depth study guide, Let’s Get Biblical! Why Doesn’t Judaism Accept the Christian Messiah? Having already been introduced to the world of blogging, I felt compelled to share my experience and research with other disenfranchised Jews, and therefore launched this site. With Ha Shem’s (literally in Hebrew “the name”), i.e. God’s blessings, I will continue to add to this site on a regular basis.
Shalom with Love of Zion!
